Newcastle Hypnotherapy – November Practice Group

Uncategorized No Comments »

We are living, maybe just existing, in a world of perpetual change. Like standing on a melting ice berg or a very atrocious precipice where any kind of surety seems quite far away. The kind of attention you give changes both your experience and the experienced. Newcastle Hypnotherapy practice group for exploring complex ideas in a complex world – that’s you! Come join in! November the 9th.

We live as highly interdependent beings in a froth of complexity never quite deeply realising how much we depend, interdepend with each other, our ways of being and seeing our world and the deep and highly complex, our net, our web, of relationships really are. Very deep is the well of our past.

You can see lilies, you can see, and maybe smell their scent. How did they get here? In what way were those bulbs sown? Why have they got symmetrical leaves? What little bugs are collecting their pollen and what do they do with it? What camera took this photo and how does a photographer interdepend on a subject to photograph? Who is the you that is seeing this? Interdependence.

This November at the Newcastle Hypnotherapy practice group, I want to explore themes from Gregory Bateson ( instrumental in NLP’ rendition of Erickson’s hypnotherapy coding ), Drew Westen, Frank Luntz, Nora Bateson which all point to communication and relationships, seeing through your eyes and not with them and how – when we can – shift our lens, prism if you like, of what you can make of a shifting reality in multiple contexts all at once.

This is going to be an extemporaneous ( good word look it up 🙂 ) exploration into and through how we both describe our world with our tools of description and what we perceive. Please do come on in-to explore with Newcastle Hypnotherapy aka the Trance Cafe this coming November.

Exploring Aspects of ‘Hypnosis Without Trance’ with Julie Brown

Uncategorized No Comments »

My good friend and colleague Julie Brown has attended a recent James Tripp ‘Hypnosis without Trance’ boot camp and Julie will be delivering what can be described as inspiring this coming Wednesdays evenings Trance Cafe to explore reality as we know it, or think we do …..

I am very excited about this! Firstly because this is Julies first Trance Cafe and much more because Julie is an excellent facilitator. And I for one am seriously looking forward to this to be learning lots of new and complementary ways of exploring hypnosis.

Julie will be facilitating ways we can be discovering how to more adeptly be use language and communication to:

Direct Attention
Lead Cognition
Seed Ideas

This is for the purpose of leading clients into an altered state of reality using non verbal communication and hypnotic inductions delivered and explored in ways easy for you to go ( in … ) and practice in this interactive evening.

Julie will be inviting you to remove any personal investment involved with an outcome or goal so there is a process with the aim of allowing you to fully enjoy the experience of the moment as it happens.

So Julie is saying “I am curiously wondering if you all are able to give yourself permission to allow yourselves to fully immerse into the evening while noticing your own individual unique perception of the emerging experiences. I very much look forward to experiencing the evening with you.”

Hope you can make this practice group with Julie, who will be sharing lots of tools and techniques that you can use in a whole bunch of way.

TuiNa Healing & WellBeing : Newcastle Hypnotherapist & NLP Practice Group : January 18th

Uncategorized No Comments »

This January’s New Year Trance Cafe is a excellent way to begin 2012 – This is a Well -Being Workshop.

During 2012 as well as lots of practice and application of hypnotherapy skills, I am also going to be using the trance Cafe to offer some excellent and additional complementary skill sets for personal and professional wellbeing. Integrating additional skill sets is something I consider vitally important for continued professional development ( CPD ) and personal growth.

My good friend and college Tony MacDonald will be sharing his considerable skills in TuiNa Chinese massage for healing and well being.  Tony is an internationally recognised Master Practitioner in TuiNa and has recently returned from India where he has added some very interesting new skills into his healing and well being work.  Tony has decades of practising healing from his well known and respected background  as a top martial arts instructor in the North East.

TuiNa is a massage technique that works on the muscles and ‘energy meridians’ that will be familiar concepts for those of us familiar with Chi Kung,  Acupuncture and emotional freedom technique ( EFT ). This two hour session in Newcastle will give you hands, very practical ways to help your friends and family not just top up their well being ( one of the benefits of massage ) but be able to help with muscular aches and pains.

Our evening together will be packed full of practice of Chi Kung breathing exercises and well structured TuiNa massage techniques which are going to be interlaced with healing hypnotherapist language.

Trait Squares And Time Lines – 7pm July 20th : Newcastle NLP Practice Group

Uncategorized No Comments »

In this month’s NLP Café, Andy Hunt will demonstrate two process to help you adopt the qualities you would like more of.

There may be times in our lives when we could really use some more strength, awareness, joy or some trait that we don’t seem to have enough of.

In the first process of this month’s NLP Café you will learn the Trait Square, a simple way of accessing more of the qualities you need.

You can adopt more confidence, enthusiasm, determination – whatever quality you would like to have more of in your everyday experience.

In the second section using Time Lines you will have a chance to test drive this new trait into the future, a thorough mental rehearsal, so that it will be available to you whenever you need it.

You don’t need much experience of NLP to attend this workshop, all you need is an idea of what attitudes and aptitudes you would like to have more of and a willingness to join in.

The NLP Café is on Wednesday 20th July at 7pm in St Oswald’s Hospice, Teaching Centre, Gosforth.

Phone Andy on 0754 700 9116 or email andy@practicalwellbeing.co.uk for more information.

The NLP Café meeting costs just £10 and includes refreshments.

Clean Therapy ™

Iron TailImage via Wikipedia

The March event for the Trance Cafe is Clean Therapy ™.

This is the current evolution and culmination of my own experience, practice and successful application of content free therapeutic process of the previous six years.

The initial groundings were from ‘Clean Language‘ the modelled work of the late David Groves from Penny Thompson and James Lawler.

My association and work with John Grinder opened up, from this very useful beginning what Clean Elicitation ( cleanlanguage is a functional sub-set of this ) really is and can be.

The work of Lakoff and Johnson in terms of Metaphor, and my background in software engineering, physics and math allowed me to apply what is necessarily and possibly possible to this field in terms of real and likely connection.

The result is Clean Therapy. This is a provocative, opportunistic and humanistic approach to change. This is a process oriented methodology to creating and engendering change with clients and yourself – At a very, very  specific level.

The basic variables involved are time, space and ‘logical’ categories.  The level of work involved can be defined as pseudo ‘real’ or ‘metaphorical’.  All problems are shuffled to a higher or metaphorical level where the usual conscious mind processes are quite literally disengaged.

This is another way of re-quoting Einstein’s famoused words that the thinking involved in problem formulation ‘will not necessarily’ be the thinking ( actions  ) involved in problem resolution.

This workshop in March 09 will demonstrate and deliver Solution Focused Clean Therapy interventions.

There are 12 places on this event and the price is £15.00. This is a three hour training from 6-9 pm on March 4th.
