Stress is a major contributor to disease. When we are overly stressed this can and often does lead to a negative impact on our health. Once our physical and mental health are affected our happiness declines.

Our natural, autonomic stress response is designed to save our life, naturally, from life threatening situations like a car crash or from a dangerous predator like a lion or violent attack. Adrenalin and glucocorticoids pour out from synapses and glands to give immediate energy to our muscles so we can get out of the way of danger very rapidly. This same autonomic stress response is often invoked by worry, dead lines and day to day frustrations. The trouble with such inappropriate stress responses is the can can over time seriously affect our health and so our happiness.

Excess stress makes Dis-eases like depression, anxiety, hypertension, irritable bowel and auto immune disorders like arthritis and chronic fatigue far more likely to happen. This Trance Cafe will provide a brief overview of the neurology and biology of stress and then explore several ways using hypnosis and guided meditation to sooth over active and inappropriate stress responses so we can learn to live more happier healthier lives.
