Hypnotic Somatic Parts Integration : Newcastle NLP & Hypnosis Practice Group : Wednesday 5th December – Nigel Hetherington

Hypnotherapy Practice, Hypnotherapy Supervision, Trancecafe No Comments »

Many though not all change workers will be familiar with the concept of psychological parts. We are not really made up of parts or competing ego identities but ‘parts work’ in NLP and hypnotherapy provides a particularly resonant and highly workable model through which to affect lasting and ecological change.

Parts work, though not by that name is present in practically all psychological change process. Parts work comes in many forms such as Freud’s id, ego and super-ego, Jung’s Archetypes of the individual and collective unconscious, Berne’s parent, adult and child and Erickson’s conscious and unconscious mind.

We will also be familiar with common every day phrases that are indicative of psychological parts in action. “The devil made me do it.”, “He sabotaged himself again.”, “It’s like a part of me stopped me doing it.”

This Decembers Trance Cafe will explore a particular aspect of hypnotic parts integrations based on process and techniques from Stephen Gilligans work in Generative Trance. Using our body to represent what can individually be described as two dystonic states, we aim to move rhythmically, in trance, between the two states.

We can represent the problem / solution space linguistically as “I want to do X but Y stops me.” And from this starting point our intention to a neuro-somatic solution in co-created resource space.

Body Fascia & Muscle Relief – EMMETT TECHNIQUE : Newcastle Hypnotherapy & NLP Practice Group : Wednesday 3rd October – Nigel Hetherington

Emmett Technique is a perfect complement to cerebral change process. Actually, the union of body work and changing our thought patterns is one of the most affective mind body paths to healing I know.

Andy Webb is the most dynamic and successful body worker I have ever met. He is my teacher in Bowen, Neuro Structural Integration Technique ( NST ) and Emmett Technique. Andy often gets body work healings and positive results where all conventional methods have failed. Recently ( in the last week ) Andy helped a soldier with an injury from Iraq become pain free from a hip problem where they had seen countless medical professionals over several years in the USA, in one session. Andy will be offering his totally unique way to body work for your consideration.

This Trance Cafe in October will offer you several techniques that Andy uses to treat and heal both physical and psychological injuries and suffering. All you need to bring is an openness to explore.

We will also be graced with a technique the Andy learned from Max Walker for treating, physically, IBS. This is a hands on process I learned from Andy two years ago that when used to treat IBS seems to cure a huge percentage of cases. Now it is not just the technique, it is how it is applied and Andy will be offering this IBS cure along with other body work magic. Not to be missed!

Stress To Health & Happiness : Newcastle Hypnotherapy & NLP Practice Group : Wednesday 5th September- Nigel Hetherington

Trancecafe No Comments »

Stress is a major contributor to disease. When we are overly stressed this can and often does lead to a negative impact on our health. Once our physical and mental health are affected our happiness declines.

Our natural, autonomic stress response is designed to save our life, naturally, from life threatening situations like a car crash or from a dangerous predator like a lion or violent attack. Adrenalin and glucocorticoids pour out from synapses and glands to give immediate energy to our muscles so we can get out of the way of danger very rapidly. This same autonomic stress response is often invoked by worry, dead lines and day to day frustrations. The trouble with such inappropriate stress responses is the can can over time seriously affect our health and so our happiness.

Excess stress makes Dis-eases like depression, anxiety, hypertension, irritable bowel and auto immune disorders like arthritis and chronic fatigue far more likely to happen. This Trance Cafe will provide a brief overview of the neurology and biology of stress and then explore several ways using hypnosis and guided meditation to sooth over active and inappropriate stress responses so we can learn to live more happier healthier lives.

Hypnotherapy Practice, Hypnotherapy Supervision, NLP Practitioning, Trancecafe No Comments »

The June offering of the Trance Cafe is being offered by the one and only Harry Knox who is my close friend and mentor and is one of the best facilitators and transformative change consultants that I know. He is also dangerously funny, client centred and horribly pervasive.

This coming June Harry is offering an open and participatory discussion called ‘Any Questions?’ So the invite here is to bring your good self and absolutely any questions you have regarding NLP, Hypnotherapy, Change Work, Comedy, Humour, God, Religion, Politics, The Climate, Family Life, Therapy, Building A Profitable Practice, Swearing, Phobias, Weight Loss, Fishing and the Meaning Of Life to name a few potential topics.

Harry very often provides the stimulation for the most unexpected and deeply meaningful context for real change, so personal change is on the agenda too.  Anticipate an evening of laughter, humour and learning … Not to be missed … Certainly to be experienced!

Harry will also be facilitating on the Master Practitioner NLP course beginning in September 2012.

Learning Forgiveness : Newcastle Hypnotherapy & NLP Practice Group : Wednesday 16th May – Nigel Hetherington

Trancecafe No Comments »

Holding a grudge against another person or even yourself is like holding tightly onto bad, unhealthy and potentially destructive energy.  In fact, holding a grudge IS holding onto bad, unhealthy and potentially destructive energy. The act of honest forgiveness for any such transgressions is an incredibly powerful healing tool. But it can be almost painfully impossible to forgive yet it can be done.

How many people do you know that have made a personal prison for themselves from events in the past? Bad and painful memories into bricks and bars. Prisons are built restrict and punish. They are intended both to be correctional and at the same time remove the prisoner from their friends, support and society. Are you one of these people who are still continuing to be  holding onto some grudge from the past?

Grudges can be described as “An emotional response to some transgression of  your values ( what is important ) and / or Your rules.”

When you want to be free of restrictive emotions, free from the prison of the past and you are ready to start out while you keep all the learnings that keep you safe, you are invited to come to the May Trance Cafe with a view of letting go the past and moving on forwards to live in more harmonistic ways.

There will be a brief overview of grudges and how they are ‘caused‘ and then move rapidly into ways to dissolve negative guilt laden energy without the requirement of any clerical presence.

Integrating Opposites : Newcastle Hypnosis & NLP Practice Group : Wednesday 18th April – Nigel Hetherington

Trancecafe No Comments »
April .. and spring has sprung. We have all recently experienced a wonderful mixture of very hot and sunny weather mixed in with unseasonal rain and even snow. In short mother nature has shown many of her facets.

&nbsp

Life can be likened to the seasons. Sometimes it is hot and vibrant other times it is cold and desolate. This cafe is an exploration of some ways to integrate our changing seasons of life and experience into honest change work. It’s all to easy for a client to request that their life is free from depression or worry yet at the same time because of many factors totally disregard the positive function of life’s lesser valued emotions and experiences.

&nbsp

Newcastle’s hypnosis and nlp practice group this April is an honest attempt to integrate the seeming polarities of our lifes journey into a more accepting whole of experience and in ways, discover the better parts of the two such that we can all lead more meaningful and open lifes.

Elman Style Hypnosis Induction And Change Process : Newcastle Hypnotherapy & NLP Practice Group : Wednesday 15th February – Nigel Hetherington

Trancecafe No Comments »

A long term favourite and particularly effective hypnotic induction and deeper is the Elman style hypnosis induction. It is a rather rapid technique at inducing trance in most people and it is  very easy to learn. The Elman style induction combines tactile experience with repeated suggestion and deepening techniques.

More often learning one or more techniques to introduce trance usually moves to an important question for the hypnotist. The question being “Once someone is in trance what to do next?” This great question can be translated into how do you go about helping someone change?

This month at the Trance Cafe you will learn how to facilitate client change. So as well as learning the Elman style induction we also get to learn and use ‘The Room of Change’. The Room of Change is both a guided and emergent change metaphor to use with your clients and friends to do almost content free change work.

Arm Catalepsy Hypnosis Inductions – Nigel Hetherington

Hypnosis Video, Trancecafe No Comments »

Creating, fostering and utilising hypnotic phenomenon is a very real demonstration of the power to change in hypnosis. In this clip from weekend two of a five weekend Clinical Hypnotherapy training, Nigel demonstrates and utilises various forms of Arm Catalepsy with students.

Lots of language patterns, utilisation and paying attention to what is available.
