Generative Trance : Newcastle NLP & Hypnosis Practice Group : 6th February – Nigel Hetherington
Hypnotherapy Practice, NLP Practitioning January 19th, 2013Most professional change workers will be familiar with parts therapy. Parts are not tangible, they are abstractions or concepts that we tend to realise as aspects of our identity. Sometimes, usually when we experience competing emotions and values it can feel like we are at war with ourselves.
This Trance Cafe practice group is an exploration of how we can go beyond the idea of parts integration and move towards what can be described as ‘transcend and include’ the opposing ideas that keep us stuck or cause problems that manifest in behavioural conflicts.
The practice session will focus on a strategy to identify and sponsor the seemingly opposing parts, valuing each aspect of identity, with the intention to include and support both aspects of ourself. This will be accomplished with a physical and psychological frame of experiential reference. Based firmly in the work of Stephen Gilligan, the intention is to develop a process that facilitates the necessary inclusion of opposites, contrast and respectful adoption.
