Wednesday morning just as the light dawns and birds, distant cars and a pheasant breath their song to me, I sit in the garden, neither warm or cold and for a while, without thoughts, be. All of this and much more was my immediate experience, which is now reduced to put into words.  This Trance Cafe is an exploration in boundarys and associated transitional values in some context.

A boundary is usually thought of a physical one, say a wall or your body and as such makes immediate sense. There are many other kinds of metaphorical boundrys and one of these is the intangible yet fully experienceable ‘values’ or the kinds of experiences we both seek to attain and move to avoid. There is also the being centred and unmoved kind of boundry experience. Move away, move towards and still, not moving.

Hypnotherapy Newcastle Boundarys and Values

Boundarys and values seems to me to come together or apart in our normals day to day relationships with others and with our self. This looks like something to do with expectations ( or anticipations much more fluid ) on ourself or with others. If you can become both honest and clear when and what you are expecting of yourself or another you have the chance of a true integration within yourself.

The Gestalt Prayer

I do my thing, and you do your thing.
I am not in this world to live up to your expectations
And you are not in this world to live up to mine.
You are you and I am I,
And if by chance we find each other, it’s beautiful.
If not, it can’t be helped.
– Fritz Pearls

A relational boundary or lack of can be both useful and problematic. This is going to be some kind of functions as to your own levels of development and aspects of ( as Wilber calls ) agency and communion or the need to be separate and affiliated. There may well be aspects of time as the certainty of context.

There is an old saying that is relevant to this exploration, in fact there are two.

Do unto others as you would hope they would do unto you. – Gold Standard

and from Nicolas Taleb – the more robust Silver Standard. Don’t do to others what you don’t want them to do to you.

Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Matthew 7
